They are made by Alfred Sargent.
I've had two pair. The first were basically worn to death. The ones I've been wearing over the past couple of years have gone through some amazing color changes. They have three basic layers. Black, over red over tan. They go through a very red phase but it's worth the wait. Mine are now a rather light tan with many shades and highlights. They have been through everything - snow, ice, sun and heat, soaked in the Pacific many times. Highly durable and comfortable. I have another pair, new in box, waiting until they're needed.
