(AJL @ Feb. 10 2005,16:52) What's up with fastening all 3 buttons?
Maybe that goes along with the other neurotic obsessions of PL including always tucking your tie in, always clipping or pinning your shirt ultra tight, always standing so that people can only see your good side, tucking in sweaters, etc.
What pisses me off is that some RLPL items are deliberately cut long, thus one is forced to tuck it in, regardless if that is what one wants or not. Jon.

Is the jacket deliberately short to reveal the trouser bulge? The guy also needs to learn how to tie his tie properly.
I've noticed that a lot of the sport coats pictured on the Polo website appear to be cut very short. I have not seen any of them in person but those pictures don't inspire me to seek them out.

I'm not referring to RLPL nor your comment in specific, but in general I prefer coats on the short side. They make everyone look taller. I think that the vast majority of people wear coats that are too long for them, to the detriment of a tall and lean silhouette.

Agree completely. I definitely prefer a coat on the shorter side than one that goes down too far. I think the one in that picture is a very nice length, but if crotch bulge is what they were going for they should have left the bottom button unfastened

When you're 6'4" a coat that's cut too short can make you look truly horrible. Like you bought it when you were a kid and then grew out of it.

Then again, when you are 6'4, you shouldn't go RTW. It just is not cut for you, period. .luc
