Anyway, thanks for the FYI on the student discount. Maybe I'll drag a college friend or two along with me.

Usually less diverse items, but very often the stores will still have items sold out in the online store. YMMV with the student discount, they denied me when I was in HS. My advice would be to check the B&M and the online store, though if the B&M has the item its almost always cheaper. If you can, go tomorrow (26th) they are running some sales, you can check the website for details.

Does any one have any experience with the selvedge denim from jcrew? I dont think that they are raw, so what would the stretching be like? I have gift cards and could get them at a good price. I want some APC's but no stores carry rescues in dallas that I can find. Thanks

if you can find it for like $30 or less then I guess go for it, but more than that and you might as well be buying levi's

Barneys at Northpark had them as of 3 days ago, along with Naked and Famous, some Nudies, and some other mall garbage. APC's were retail $155. EDIT: I didn't specifically see rescues, but they had a full shelf type thing with APC's so I assume they carry Rescues as well as NS.

alright. And the APCs at Barneys are NS. What about regular denim from Jcrew? i have a pair but they have faded alot with washing. Do yall think if I sized down one and didnt wash them that they would work?
Well, they're not raw, so they wouldn't fade really. They'd be a completely different animal than New Standards, they can't really be compared.

It's a very good value if you don't want to pony up for a Barbour or Belstaff waxed jacket. It's very heavy and is lined in a plaid fabric just like it's British counterparts. My only complaint with it though, is that they used velcro on the cuffs for tightening them up (should be buttons imo).

Question for anyone who's actually owned one of these for any length of time: does it stretch/soften up with wear? I picked one up a few days ago. It fits perfectly and looks great, but the fabric is uncomfortably stiff and restrictive-feeling. Despite how much I like the look, I'm actually thinking of returning it, since I strongly suspect I'd just leave it in the closet most of the time. Anyone have any advice?

When I said faded I meant that with washing the color became alot lighter. I want the really dark color they come in so would buying a size smaller and not washing them would do the trick.
Yeah, I got that, I just figured if you were considering NSs you wanted fades. If not though (just looking for a permanent dark, rinsed look) then getting the J Crew and not washing would probably work fine, though a cheaper pair of dark levis or something like that would likely serve you just as well. And you can wash them, just do it inside out, and don't do it more than is necessary.

If you want the selvedge in a dark color you may want to re-consider the J Crew jeans.

From the J Crew website:
Attachment 16281

From the J Crew men's print catalog
Attachment 16282

Both are wearing selvedge jeans. Mine came in between - kind of a medium indigo color. It looks great to me and was just what I was looking for. The J Crew fit for me is much better than APC Rescues. There is a 2 inch difference in the back rise.

APC jeans = ultra small back rise which results in a huge perma-wedgie.

J Crew jeans = standard back rise & classic fit, kind of between a Levi's 501 and 559.

I have found that with jeans you shouldn't care about trends. Instead, go with what looks most flattering on you. I just bought a pair of J Crew jeans on clearance for $13 and it looks better on me than any $200 pair of jeans out there.

Also, the waist came .5 inch too big and the inseam .5" too long. I always hope it comes a bit smaller on each so that blows. I haven't washed them yet so can't say about shrinkage...

anybody have a fit pic of that field jacket? i was stoked to get it but it fits/looks really nothing like pictured above. i think i should have sized down A LOT to get that look. i had a medium (my usual size) and the thing swallowed me whole.
Mine fit me like that (when I still had it). If you're scrawny, you might want to try a Belstaff jacket instead.

Thomas Mason Dress Shirts Anyone tried them? The multistripe shirt is available in my dress shirt size (16x34) and the contrast collar is avalable in my more casual size (15.5). Are they slim? How do they fit?

I went with a small size for the field jacket, and I'm a BoO medium/J. Crew small. I tried it in medium and it also swallowed me whole.

did you get your normal size? i'm slender (40/42 jacket), but def. not scrawny. i'm wondering if it would be worth trying a small since i really like the look of it and am still on the hunt for a wintery jacket.
