House is in Merida in the Yucatan.

Are you going to have hammock hooks on the walls?

Some of the best nights of sleep in my life were on a hammock hung across the foyer of a modern concrete place we rented in Merida. It had hooks and coiled up hammocks in basically every room.

I’ve contemplated replicating the setup but I don’t exactly live in a climate conducive to sleeping in a mesh Mayan hammock…

Out of curiosity what kind of climate would be favorable? I imagine you can layer or use a blanket if needed.

The climate in Merida seemed perfect for it.

I was relatively uncomfortable/sweaty my first night there in a bed, but then I realized what those coiled up things hanging in every room were.

The hammock plus a sort of afghan style blanket and a pillow was perfect. Ok if it cools off at night, but the open net hammock lets you shed humidity. Just gotta know about the “hammock angle” so you don’t sleep bent up like a banana.

Main room is a little too big.

But yes to hammocks in the bedrooms and on the terrace.
