It's a pretty cool place. I'm a big fan of natural elements in the home.

This is a nice chair.

Indeed it is. Fabricius/Kastholm did make some amazing furniture.

How sad for the chair.

I think I'll do my next project in purple heart which is my version of the 'Index three low' book case.

Are you doing it yourself? Purple heart can be a difficult wood to work with.

Read recently somewhere that Knoll used to use menswear fabrics to upholster, before incorporating the designs into (presumably more durable) upholstery fabrics.

There are examples in other threads of this sort of thing (doing MCM chairs in Mad Men suit fabrics seemed a trend for awhile) but conventional wisdom is suit fabric is too delicate to be sat on. Weird, because, well, pants.

Just bought a Pollock chair on eBay and I'm super excited to pick it up. I've been sitting on the $12.99 IKEA office chair for four years.

I'm not 100% sure I'm in love with the color, but, for the price, I think I did pretty well.

Considering what you came from, I think you did very well for yourself!
