Cool furniture, design objects and desiderata - Page 60

I am a fan of open shelving, but not that much of it. I feel like I would have a hard time finding nice looking stuff to store on it, so it would just become for looks and not very functional.

I prefer closed cabinets. No need for others to see my mess.

I like the drawers In some of the drawers we also have plate holders which are adjustable and carry 8 plates in a stack. You just grab the handles and walk to the table. We keep the plates in the top drawers so there is no bending. The shelves to the right of the cook top are for display only.

The cook top is induction. Quick and great heat control. The refer is to the left next to the oven behind the camera.

I find the 2 vents above the hood visually jarring. One combined surface would be simpler.

I think the fact that the prep/dining counter slams into the shelves (on the right side of the pic) is awkward. It seems it would be more elegant if the dark shelving started at the far right edge of the counter. Likewise, I don't get the dark piece in the deep left corner. And the fridge is located behind the camera, you say? So one opens the fridge, gets stuff, and has to pass those dark shelves? That seems awkward too, along with the fact the fridge perhaps fronts directly onto the dining area? Why not just have the dark shelving end at the counter on the right and at the fridge on the left and be done with it?

I do like those drawers.

When you do these layouts do you also produce a drawn plan? It would be helpful to see those along with the photos.

I don't understand this? The counter seems to carry on to the right and off the visible area. There is just shelving above the counter.

Oh, it does? OK, I didn't realize that. Yes, if there is continuous counter along the back wall below the dark shelves then I agree with you.

Here is a kitchen that I know you guys will like. It was put out by Alno for the Milan show.

Looks like a boat.

Hahaha just wanted to share. I was speechless when I saw it in Milan. The really funny part is that the whole company bought into the CEO's crazy idea. There sales people were convinced that we could sell this in the US market.

Just kiddin Probably would sell, but it might be better fit to commercial use than residential.
