You and me both.

We aren't all going to like the same stuff :)

German/Swiss/Austrian furniture (in general) is more about craftsmanship and comfort/function than pure design and that seems to be where my tastes are at the moment.

When I see the chairs and all the hand stitching, I think they are beautiful.

(This is the original1971 design that my dining room chairs are based off of)

When I was done furnishing the place I was surprised that had almost no Italian furniture in the house other than doors and shelves by Rimadesio and bathrooms by Boffi and Agape.

These are two completely different chairs yet you say each one is the original for yours. confused.gif

It is a shame they only show it in black as the hand stitched sides are gorgeous.

chairs with white leather/fabric :(

To clarify the DS-51 arm chair is the original design 1971 on which the new DS-1051 chairs are based.  Now the standard DS-1051 dining chair design is shorter than my chairs which I asked de Sede to make taller for me.  My apologies for the confusion.

It's very office / doctor waiting room in the design.

As I said before we can't all have the same taste and I admit the stuff that I like isn't hugely popular outside of Germany/Switzerland/Austria.  You won't find this stuff by accident like you might with big brands like Flexform and Poltrona Frau.

I quite like it from the side view and the top view (of the slightly different chair) but the front view just absolutely ruins it for me. As you say, though, different strokes for different folks.

I really want a Peg sofa. I might buy one. But I shouldn't. But I want one.
