I was leaning towards the marble, but thank you for the info! I only have a 13" laptop, so figured the 20" side table would be plenty big, but I will take a look at the oval one. I definitely don't need another night stand.

gilt home had nice full length mirror like that by Zuo, wanted to pick it up for the new house but wouldn't have been prudent considering we aren't moved in yet....

Was thinking more along the lines of the Poltrona Frau wing chair or a chair in that style. It's really the best kind of chair for a fireplace setting since the headrest and wings help to keep the warmth behind your neck and shoulders. Which is usually sought after on any occasion that would call for a fire.

And really, rather then shove one in the corner, a pair of them should be in front of the fireplace facing each other across a small table.

I love the wegner Wing chair, but it certainly is a departure from axel's style.

I went to the Poltrona Frau showroom and saw the wing chair in person - truly spectacular but at $7k+, out of my league. Ended up getting the Louis chair from Room and Board in Cognac Leather

Now onto the next furniture question. Looking for a small table to put in the below space. I envision putting either a small sculpture or vase on the table. The key is that I want a table that will cover the outlet. Ideas? Could also be talked in a different direction to fill the space.

Hard to blindly suggest without the rest of the room in consideration. I think it'll be nice to use a pair of those wing chairs in front of a fire place. Considering that it is cool or cold seven months out of the year here you will get plenty of use out of it.

You have paid $2000 for Room and Board chair. Now you need to go across the street to DWR or Restoration Hardware and purchase an awesome table. Have a caramel macchiato at Starbucks between the trips.

Anyone have a Saarinen side table? I thinking about taking advantage of the knoll sale, but I'm worried it won't be that stable on carpet or around a kid or dog. Any thoughts?

Not a concern, especially with laminate or wooden top. The leg is solid metal and weights a ton. As a side-note; you can buy real Saarinen on a second hand market for almost half of new table.
I also would strongly advise to buy an oval side table. I have both and oval ones are perfect for laptops or as a table that slides right up to you when you sit on the sofa. It is the most ergonomic of two. I long relegated my round Saarinen tables to serve as night stands in my bedroom, they are quite good for that.

Where does one find the second-hand market for Saarinen tables?
