Both actually sound pretty cool.

I have to admit , I always smile when people refer to modern or the modern look. The irony is the most of the furniture clssed as modern or the movements that spawned it like Bauhus etc etc are all 100 years old, when for many of us our grandparents wern´t even born. Whether is beVan der Rohe´s Barcelona chairs from 1929 or Eileen Grays furniture from the end of the 19th start of the 20th century. Modern isn´t "Modern" its antique. happy.gif

I highly doubt that that distinction is lost on anyone in this thread.

Modern is a time period/style ca. 1920-1970, just like Louis 14th etc. is.

a more apt comparison might be Art Nouveau/Jugendstil, which is not so new or young anymore.

Yes you did, I was just reiterating the fact. Many will skip over your post without realizing how profound it actually was. Most modernists today are what I would describe as late developers wink.gif

These are perfect. Would fit nicely into my need for a side chair. Thanks for sharing.

Those guys have a lot of cool stuff that they refurbish and their pricing seems pretty reasonable. Saw a few different mccobb tables recently that all looked great. It's a couple working on this--I'm pretty sure the woman works for Room and Board, not sure what the man does (or if this is becoming a full time thing).

They seem to have been working on delivery options, so it might not be impossible to get stuff to Texas.

Liking this thread lots & hoping to get my take on the classic 'Roorkhee' chair finished for the Spring/Summer.
Oak frames with English Bridle Leather Straps & Saddle hide seats & back, solid brass fittngs, handstitching etc etc.
Anyone interested or got any suggestions please send me a pm.
Best,
Tim Hardy
