Cool furniture, design objects and desiderata - Page 101

I really like the chesterfield style, but I think that the back is too low on that model. I don't like sofas with high backs, but I'd feel as though I was going to topple over the back of that one. It's nice to have a bit of support.

I imagine those cushions sink quite a bit when sat in.

Looking for some pendant lights for my new place. They will go over the kitchen island which is open to the DR/LR. Probably need three.

They're much better in person, I would do the 'pod' for a grouping of three.

These look nice, but from a practicality standpoint if you hang them above the kitchen island, they will be close to the stove. Therefore, I would opt for those where the inside is either easily accessible for cleaning, or a closed one where you only have to do the outside.

My inlaws have a crystal chandelier in the kitchen, the thing is a nightmare in terms of accumulating fat and dust. Even though she cleans it every month (take it apart and clean the individual pieces).

I was looking at these a while back, but they don't make them in 220V, so I needed to fit an adaptor.


I know it's not the same style, but I really like the look of.

The island holds a sink and since it's an NYC apt there's no real cooking.

 

Like the Dixon, but need clear or smoked as I want to see through them.

 

Not feeling a chandelier in the space.

How about a Verner Panton globe then?

Cool, but too visually busy. The space calls for a subtle light to fit into the room.

Only one of these, but they accomplish the same task:

Middle pic actually looks like the place - colour and feature-wise. Will consider.

 

We're changing a lot of our furniture and heading more into the below direction. I'm painting the foyer charcoal grey and probably using the DR chair colour for the bedroom walls. Fireplace has a cesar stone surround that I will paint high-gloss black.

Okay, the Artecnica comes without the tangle, that's fairly subtle.
