http://www.ebay.com/itm/LETTER-OPENER-CLASSIC-STYLE-STAINLESS-MARKED-IDL-No-150-50s-JAPAN-V-NICE-/220936061739

Someone is selling my ancient generic letter opener (the same model is crappy and made in china nowadays) for almost twenty bucks!
It is actually quite a nice little tool though and I felt sad when I thought I had lost it.

Looking for a new sofa. Anybody have experience with American Leather? Looking at the Parker model. Have also considered the Bantam from DWR but I've seen some pictures with the cushion looking awfully worn out after a shortish amount of time. Hadn't been looking for leather until sitting on a Parker today in their haven leather...liked it a lot and it was the most comfortable sofa I've yet sat on.

If I had to chose an American Leather piece I would give preference to the Theatre sofa for DWR by American Leather. That being said I think Florence Knoll's two seater is much better but at a much higher price point. I prefer how the legs look on Flo Knoll.

Thinking of redoing my bedroom, probably get a double bed, new desk, new wood floor to replace the old stained carpet, new coat of paint, and a bedside table, maybe a new chest of drawers too but I'm not sure on that one.

Found a cheap bed that looks OK, does the bed itself contribute to a comfortable night's sleep or is it just the mattress?

The bed frame is purely looks, keeping the cold from exterior walls away and to hold on to.

The rest is up to the mattress

The Knoll 2 seater might be the most uncomfortable couch I have ever sat on. It's not bad at first, but after 30 mins it's just crazy.gif

Such a shame because I love the way it looks.

Lol, it's not high on the list for comfort. Have you sat in the series 3300 by Arne Jacobsen?

I liked this bookshelf:

but then I saw a set and discovered that it was supposed to be mimetic. kind of ruined the standalone one for me.
