Cool furniture, design objects and desiderata - Page 76

Finn- I didn't even get to see the chairs because they sold so quickly. My plan was to trade them to the local mid-century furniture store for some Eames chairs and cash. I was planning on buying some Poul Jensen tables from the shop yesterday, but they were walnut, not teak. So, I just picked up a little Danish teak chest with a sliding top. The Eilersen sofa was very nice, but ridiculously deep. I am 6'2" and it was too deep even for me.

BV- the aforementioned local shop gets Eames loungers in regularly, but they are usually $3500-4000. They're too big and ominous for my little house (and too pricey for my wallet).

In other news, my B&O radio arrived broken. Time to send it all the way back to Denmark...

I have an original womb chair and ottoman with black wrought iron legs at an upcoming Bonhams auction in SF. Make me a non-stupid offer.

I've accepted that any desirable vintage sofa would be hard to find locally, so I went with new:

Wow, you guys are still on Mid-century wagon? Havent' you heard ? It is all Chesterfield and Chippendale now.,

If anyone Has or buys a set of Moller 62 or 78 chairs in rosewood and decides they want to get rid of one keep me in mind.

Not sure if I love it or hate it.

That rug is horrible, the chair can be reupholstered, but you can't save an ugly rug.

I think its a sick rug...but would never want it in my home. Maybe in the loungey section of an independant bookstore.

I think its all sitting on a pretty nice floor...do you like the floor, lefty?

No. Or the TV dominating the cabinet. Or the cabinet. Or the speaker. Or the door trim. 

 

Walls could stay I guess.
