You seem to be looking at it from one angle. What about the abysmal reffing in the first game? What about Bosingua's pull on Henry in the box in Game 1? The un-fucking-believable dive job Anelka did to get Abidal the red? The fact that Ballack should have been sent off in Game 1? I will freely admit that the reffing was terrible, but it was terrible for both sides. The only obvious call that was missed was Pique's handball in the box. Malouda's foul in the box was, in fact, not a foul, but another dive job. Eto'o's handball was hardly a handball. I mean, Chelsea had a man advantage at home and was still resigned to parking the bus. They should have held possession and killed the game off, but they didn't. That is HARDLY any referee's fault. Besides, as 2002 Guus Hiddink stated himself “It's easy to go on blaming referees or linesmen. Of course they make mistakes, but coaches make mistakes, players make mistakes, and the press make mistakes. They go for you and against you.”

You really think the referee at the Nou Camp was as bad as the guy at Stamford Bridge? Not even close. Forget Malouda or Drogba, Pique and Eto'o both had obvious handballs. Two penalties. I would even argue that Pique should have seen red.

Also, how is it applicable that Chelsea parked the bus? They knew they could not beat Barca on style points so why try? They are not Arsenal (i.e., play with flair whether you win or lose). That is the rubbish Barca whined about after game one, which I believe had a direct impact on the referee in game two.

As I said under normal circumstances I would cheer on Barca against ManUre. But the way they made it there just does not sit well with me.

don't forget the freekick on malouda in the first half was inside the box. abidal's foul on drogba inside the box , toure's tugging of the shirt on drogba inside the box. whether the ref was incompetent at this level or just corrupt is debatable, but one thing is sure, he should never be in this stage again but stick to his job in the crap norweigan league.

yeahhh, Abidal got a red card for that and is suspended for the final.

For some reason, people's memory of the referee's shitty calls only go one way.

People only remember the bad calls against the team that lost. There's no point in remembering the bad calls for the team that won.

I feel it's fair when the complainers are saying the team that won only did so because of one-sided bad calls in their favor.

Both clubs seem relatively matched coming into the final -- considering the missing players. I just hope it doesn't come down to penalties.
