Depending on which one, and how much mileage is on it. If it's an XTi or above, with not too much mileage on it, then definitely.

I think with the kit lens and less than 20,000 actuations, any Rebel is good at that price. That's basically midpriced point and shoot territory.

It's an old camera. I'd pass on it if I were you. For around $300 after MS Live rebate, you can get a brand new Nikon D40 with lens on eBay (see here). This is a very good starter camera, and frankly a bargain at this price.

You'll have to wait about 60 days for the rebate to kick in, but even without the rebate you're only looking at a little over $400. To get the rebate, go to live.com, search for "nikon," then follow the link to eBay. You can insert the D40 in the search box once you get to eBay.

It's a decent deal, but would have been worlds better had it included the lens, I would probably be more excited about the deal if he was throwing in some extra gear. I'm more of a Canon fan, but the deal DarkNWorm, posted would likely be better, given the fact it's a brand new cam.

Wow, the prices of DSLRs and their accompanying lenses have fallen considerably!

DSLRs, yes. Lenses, not so much. The good lenses rarely lose their values, even the "kit" ones. Based on what I've seen, DSLRs lose about 50% of their value in about 2 years' time.
