I hand wash my cars weekly and wax/polish the paint every few months. White cars not showing dirt is a myth the best I ever had was a silver rover.

That was me.

Yes, that's exactly what they did. It was CAR magazine. They did the same thing last year with the E92 M3.

If you get a copy and look closely at the front of the article it gives credit as: "Images by: ______". It doesn't say photos.

______ is a well known automotive renderer who does this work frequently. They will use spy shots and guesses to come up with their idea of what the car will look like.

You're right. Silver is def. the best for hiding dirt. White isn't as good as people say, but I think it's better than black.

Aside from the dirt problem, black is much more unforgiving on a flawless finish. Swirls and scratches are much more noticeable than on any other color. I am VERY anal about my finish and detailing (belong to a number of detailing msg. boards). Even though I agree a perfectly prepped and maintained black car can't really be beat, I won't own a flat black car because I know I would drive myself crazy claying, polishing, etc. on a regular basis. I could deal with a metallic black, though.

How do they claim to compare the M3 to the RS5 without an actual RS5 and they had pictures of the M3 with the RS5 on the road. I guess it is possible and I only looked at it quickly and didn't read the articles but that is ridiculous if that is what they did.
