Brian, LA Guy, do you just air 'em out on the washing line, or do you *gasp* have them dry-cleaned? Seems like... cheating.
I can't do the 6 months thing. 10 wearings (bear in mind that I wear my jeans *hard*, I mean, my 1 year Paper Denims look like 10 year paper denims after just one year) is the most I've gotten to. Then, I'll soak the jeans in a vinegar solution (to preserve the dye). and handwash them (very little, very mild, detergent). Works fine for me. They don't look exactly like the advertised version, but whatever. As for the new standard APCs, Tina at Stel's and the APC people all tell me that the cut is about the same, with a slightly more straight (as opposed to slightly tapered) leg, like a peg leg, and about 1 inch lower rise. Haven't yet seen them in person, but this is great news, IMO.
Hmm.. that kind of bums me out to hear this like two months after I bought a pair of the Unisex jeans. I would have liked the rise to be a little lower and the leg a little less tapered if I could have had it (but I am very happy with them, nonetheless). They "New Standard" jeans must have been around from some sort of sample sale, because I am absolutely positive I saw them on eBay a couple months ago, and i was considering purchasing them.

After those jeans have worn in for six months, how long can you even wear them for? Did I buy defective Sevens? After about 5 months of regular (daily) wear, the crotch has worn thin. Is this normal? I'm a little bit disappointed about this, even though they did last long enough to make the price less than $1/day.

Sevens are a different story because 1) they are prewashed and 2) they are composed of a much lighter weight denim that is bound to take some rips and tears. Seven denim is in the 9-11oz range while the Nudie RR Selvage is 13.5oz. I plan to wear my Nudies extensively after they are worn in, and Im going to wash them plenty often. I just want to establish a good light-dark contrast before doing so.

Speaking of Nudie Jeans, any place online (in the US) to buy the Regular Ralf Used De Luxe or Authentique Deluxe? Thanks

Score have the Used De Luxe, and Volls have the Authentique Deluxe. Both apparently ship outside their respective countries, but I haven't got firsthand experience. Regular Ralf status report: 174 wearings to go.

Thanks Nick. Will email them to see how much shipping would be to the US.

Yea, there is a 5-page discussion here about the Veggie nudies.
Thank you Brian for the link. I didn't see any online stockists of the veggies in that thread, however.

In non-Nudie news: I checked out the new PDC jeans, the BMX, and it turns out they're a "slim bootcut" supposedly not unlike the GTO. However, they fit a lot more loosely--more like the LTD, complete with higher rise and button fly. Moreover, the wash isn't nearly as interesting and three-dimensional as the 3-year, much less the cooler PDC washes. And the cotton? It's sourced from Turkey, which isn't terrible, but not the Italian and Japanese stuff the company has always used. It definitely lacks the texture and softness of the GTOs they seem to be replacing. They seem sorta like tarted-up Mavi jeans, which isn't bad per se. But they're not on the same level as the best PDC jeans of old, and they're not worth twice the price of Mavi jeans. I'll stick to my GTO 1-years and my Tate New Retros for my slim bootcuts, thank you very much.
