to put it bluntly; "i hate your friends"

but she will also ditch you, so take what I'D do with a grain of salt.

Good.

As for the friends ... suck it up. Find ways of spending time alone with your GF where the annoying person can't be there. 6 months from now you can joke with her about how Gertrude really drives you up the wall, but right now you'd be backing her into the chick version of the "bro's before ho's" situation.

On the side note, for those of you who are in a long term relationship or married, do you and your mate have particular subject that both of you like to talk about? What do you do when your mate does not understand (or have no background in) subject that you want to talk about?

If you can't communicate your passion for a subject and make it approachable you don't understand it (or it's not interesting). Of course keeping in mind that you don't always have to drive the conversation and orient it on the topics you like is quite important. Oh and you're supposed to find stuff to share too. Complicamented, no?

Ummm...we talk about lots of stuff. A few years together will do that to you. One of us might educate the other from time to time, while the other tries to look interested.
