Very much enjoying this show on HBO.

Anyone else?

I watch it and enjoy it. I think it's been getting better with each episode, might be leveling off now though. Still has time to develop more though and has already been renewed for a second season.

I'm quite loving the show. I just read the book, and the show is very very close to the book. And I can't complain about Jason being naked in every episode.

Watched it from the beginning but it's off our watch list now. Didnt seem like the show was really going anywhere. Admittedly it was getting a tad better, but still unwatchable imo. Most of my friends who were watching this have stopped as well so I'm not alone.

Really really really wanted to like this but it's not working for me

The guy who plays the brother (Jason) deserves an Oscar. Paquin is pretty bad, her boyfang is not that great either, the cousin/cook and the cops crack me up. Overall, I like how they tend to pack a lot in an episode and bring twists and dramatic revelations in each episode - but also are able to slow down and have a chill episode like the last. I don't like that it's becoming a bit too softcore porn for my taste - just seems forced to me.

I watched the first few episodes, but couldn't continue. The acting is just beyond horrible. Seems they get the script 5 minutes before they're supposed to shoot their scenes. It's mostly a cast of nobodies, so I can't blame them. However, no excuse for New Zealander-Canadian Academy Award winner Anna Paquin. She played the same southern-twanged, misunderstood girl with a superpower gift in three X-men movies already.

Am I the only one who thinks that Ryan Kwanten (Jason Stackhouse) is really good in this show?

I like this show. I wouldn't say it is good, but Sookie is very watchable. And sure the acting and dialogue can be questionable, but it is nice and pulpy, with cheap thrills galore; what more do you want from a vampire show on cable?

Anna Paquin belongs in the over-acting hall of fame. Her placque will hang next to William Shatner's. As such, she provides some occassional unintentional comedy, so that's a plus. The guy playing her brother is very good. I also like the black girl and her cousin, and the cops. I almost stopped watching this after the first episode but I stayed on and it's growing on me. Despite Paquin's horrific acting, she's filled out nicely and I was happy that her naked boobs made an appearance this week.

Sorry, dude. Not exactly a major plot point, so I think you'll be OK.

Perhaps I've given up on this show a couple weeks too soon. Anna Paquin is quite the buttaface. I'll have to catch a rerun of this episode.

Decent show. I think the resources HBO has dropped on the show has taken it from mediocre to watchable.

I think Sookie is a pretty weak character overall. I don't really care about her even if she is the main character. The Grandmother is weak and goofy. Overall, I don't feel like the show really captures the small town feel that it is going for. You don't accomplish that feel by making a few characters naive and give them all southern accents.

Jason is a great character, though. For being so shallow, he has the most depth. I do like the Tara, although the story with her mother is horrible.
