how long does it take to get from size 35 chest to size 38? - Page 3

He wanted to improve his chest size, right?

It doesn't matter how big your shoulders are when you have a flat chest. I know guys who can shoulder press more than they can bench. They have shoulders that I would describe as boulder like. They also have arm that are thicker than they're chest. So, in answering the OP's question, eat enough to you have enough energy to put on weight. And work your chest hard to ensure that you are stimulating your chest so that it will grow. This being said, your triceps and shoulders will grow with this compound move too. Measuring your chest circumference is crap. If you have huge shoulders and a wide back and a caved in chest, you will be big. Work your chest in conjunction with a complete workout programme and you will achieve over all size increase in your chest. What you want, right?

I will recommend prepping with dips and chin-ups. Also, alternate between DB and Olympic BB presses. Plus the usual incline, flat and decline.

Note, this is useless if you ain't eating enough.

Simple.

He wants to fit into size-38 suits. Depending on his current proportions, he may have to focus on enlarging his chest/back or his shoulders or (probably) both.

Chest size? Does the OP mean chest thickness or the circumference? Bench press focusing on peak contraction will help. Like some of the previous posts have stated, you have to increase your lats and back in order o increase circumference. As far as the amount of time it takes, that all depends on your genetics, your body morphology, your diet, and your training. Always remember form comes before the amount of weight

I know H&M has size 36 suits, so he could try there too.

I remember reading a story about ab sculpting. The author was interviewing this guy who had it done. The guy was described as "soft" - love handles, double or triple chin, flabby arms, no chest definition, etc. yet he had ripped abs. That would look pretty freaky lol.

I doubt you want to look like the hulk and I have experience this myself and this is what I did to get the desired effect.

I started off as a 100% weakling and could not even bench 50 pounds.

Since you are doing this strictly for style then I will only mention what you need to do for that and that is:

Barbell flys and bench press. You do not want hulking muscle mass and you just want to be BUFF

So you must as I did work out for 6 months. But I think in your case it might turn out to be 3 months just for a few inches.

3 sets of 8 will be just fine.

They have 34R too. There's one on ebay I'm watching.

I have a tweed sport coat in 34R from H&M. If anyone is interested, send me a PM. It fit well back when I had a 35-36" chest.

I'm atm 35,5" inches around my chest, should I buy blazers in 38 or 36? I am slim, but have not trained anything and I'm going to start on a gym, so I'm quite unsure.
