Well, I dropped my participation around page 9 and 10, but am now caught up after reading this now that I am at home. This thread just shows how the internet can be a poor communication tool. I was pretty certain this thread started out with a legitimate question and then took what I thought was an obvious turn towards the tongue-in-cheek. And then David Bresch got slightly wound up and Alias's good naturedness made me start feeling guilty for enjoying the back and forth.

I am still somewhat curious about what Alex Kabbaz thinks of David Bresch, and now know what got Marc Grayson banned (I knew I should have been glued to the Style Forum over the Christmas Holidays).

But like I said before, this is indeed like the neighborhood pub. I hope Bresch pops his head back in for a pint and understands that this was all done in the spirit of good fun and entertainment. David, come on over and let us refill your glass.

Oh, by the way, I know nothing about wine or bourbon and even less about Scotch, but I have enjoyed that discussion immensely. This thread has had it all.

J: nice avatar. Â When I first saw it I thought, "No, it can't be." Â Sure enough it's the great Sid Vicious.
Thanks. Check out The Smoking Gun for all the best mugshots. Chuck, great movie. So you're saying that wouldn't be covered? What if the pants were red (err.. even before the bull attack) thus inciting such treatment, and failed to provide adequate protection? Just how "super" is that Super 120s crap?

The only thing I wish about this thread is that Dr. Bresch would pop back in. I hope there are no hard feelings. Alias, you are taking this far too seriously. I don't dislike Dr. Bresch at all, though I think his comments in this thread were kind of ridiculous, but who knows, maybe it was grand satire and most of us were taken? In any case, I hope he doesn't feel unwelcome.

Back to the fun.
Yeah yeah, I'm bitter over threads in Ask Andy turning into phallic iajitsu contests. argh

You know the social dynamics of the Style Forum, especially expressed in this thread, would make a great sitcom

IMO, this is far from the behavior of a "peanut gallery" member, at least as far as I understand the term -- perhaps you can enlighten me as to how such behavior fits into your definition of a peanut gallery
This may help, this is the peanut butter gallery - Alex and Darren were wondering if I killed Coco for screaming while we were on the phone making arrangements for NYC.

Hilarious... This is more fun than a barrel of Bobs in black suits blasted on Blanton's. Edit: Where is the NY Times when you really need 'em??? Manton, think your publisher might be interested?

Nevermind - now I can see it. Â And...oh yeah, double ouch. Â That poor fellow's probably not going to need a vasectomy. Â

Yes, but a sturdy pair of leather pants may have come in handy...

Carlo, you are indeed a dullard, and obviously an ignorant one at that. Anyone of any taste or substance KNOWS that creamy peanut butter is grossly inferior to the crunchy variety and that JIF is clearly third rate (compared to the superior brands of Skippy and Peter Pan), and this is not even to bring into the equation all natural or organic. This is not opinion, it is FACT. I'm sure even the bird would tell you this, were s/he able to speak.

Oh sure Shoefan - so you have exhaustively tested the beak sticking properties of all peanut butters to determine which can best silence a Greenwing Macaw while you are on the phone? The bird can talk, you are obviously speaking from an incorrect assumption and as we all know... when you do that you make an ass out U and mption. I would challenge you to present evidence of your theorem, I'll fill Coco's mouth with Jif, you tell him it sucks and try to wipe it out for him. If you come out with 10 fingers, you win. What is your foundation of knowledge regarding macaws? Are we talking rules or generalizations or what?

I have something to attack: drizzt3117 wanton use of "˜WTF'. I mean really, posting WTF 4 really does not give me the slightest clue as to the context of the post.

Jon.

How's that for an attack?
