I just thought it wasn't very interesting. I'd have expected more fireworks from a good invasion.

Damn It AJL, if you are gonna quote me quote me right. Its Captain V. (Did you notice how Ken just jumped right in with the name? Â I really think we have something there). Captain V. obviates Viagra in fact, as you an tell from the Monologues, soon to be a major motion picture, "Captain V: Â The beginning" (Or the end, whichever). In the sequel Captain V battles the Evil V, Viagra his arch enemy. Stay tuned.
Hey, that was a quirky little slip, Freudian or otherwise. I kept having this "Capt. Viagra" thing in my head, and I'd have to correct myself: It's Capt. Vasectomy, not Capt. Viagra... Oh well, I guess my subconcious won out this time, and I'm not even gonna edit it. And yes, I do think we've got something there (thanks for giving me partial credit

. Note: Mr. Dershowitz recommends I curb my normally acerbic tone, and remain on my best behavior until this intellectual property rights/ copyright issue is officially resolved) Darth Viagra vs. Captain Vasectomy in "Battlestar Prophylactica"...?

Unfortunately, the "invaders" are from what amounts to my backyard...they habituate a board run by a Minneapolis sports talk radio station, KFAN (not to be confused, as I'm afraid it already has by some of my esteemed SF members, with WFAN of New York). There are no personalities even remotely nearing Mike Lupica's stature on KFAN.

And they apparently believe they coined the term "rube", which makes me want to change my name. Please forgive me if I've brought this all upon us.

What will be next? Raining frogs, or flaming balls of ice?

I recall one of them posted a rather disturbing image that makes Ken's recent contribution in the Capt. Viagra (Â

FIHTies Productions) thread look tame in comparison.
.
What thread is this in reference to?

It was a thread/threads on Andy's site initiated by the aforementioned goons. Doubtless they have all been removed. (The image in question was vile enough that merely the thought of describing it is repugnant. Most likely something from Rotten.com or similar purveyer of macabre filth/smut etc.)

Thanks for clearing up that confusion for me...There are big differences in WFAN and KFAN, that's for sure. Now as far as the rube thing goes, they don't believe they coined the term "rube" but they just use it in a different meaning. It's actually not unlike a Jeff Foxworthy kind of bit. Like, you might be a rube if: You Tivo the Gophers game while watching the Wolves game. They use it as a term for people who like sports a lot...Almost too much. And I can't say that you brought this upon this board. I don't even know how that would have been possible.

No, I can make fun of the invasion, because it sucked and it was stopped and didn't work, moron

And maybe J should preemptively ban your IP's just to prevent this from happening again.

And I don't listen to stateside radio because I don't live in the states, although I really can't say I'm missing out on much.

Edit: And actually I hope that other forum mod bans you too.
My point is, it's hard to criticize an invasion when there isn't an invasion at all.

By the way, nice work on the name calling -- I'm really impressed.

JCSL: I didnt see any name calling unless you mean our very own Capt. V, Which in order to understand you would have to go to this thread http://66.170.193.77/cgi-bin....;t=6956 which was preceeded by this http://66.170.193.77/cgi-bin....;t=6676 Also with regard to name calling isnt that the KFAN Rube Mantra? (taken from the Rube entry page)
KFAN Rube Chat Hey Rubes. Here's your new home for Rube Rants 24/7. Share your thoughts on sports, news, weather or whatever your little heart desires - all while immersing yourself in a sea of poor grammar and childish name-calling.
But for my part fellahs lets just let this thing die and move on. aggravation was averted lets carry on with regular scheduled programming.

I'm beyond this. Â If you'll kindly notice CT, I've called none of you names -- In any of my 12 posts. Â I just didn't think what I said to Alias warranted him calling me a moron. Â It's not right. And sure, on the KFAN board, that's all people do. Â But I thought this was a forum for gentlemen?

OK - not to belabor the point, but I realized what the forum invasion reminds me of... Does anyone else remember the short film at the beginning of Monty Python's The Meaning of Life? "Crimson Permanent Assurance" - in which the chartered accountants decide to become "pirates of the financial sea" and start attacking other companies while still wearing their green eye shades and reading glasses. This is the picture I have in my mind of web forums attacking each other Â

My concern is that your en mass posting caused the forum to crash. Jon.
It's truly nothing to be concerned of anymore -- I do believe I'm the only one left. And like I told FIHTies in a PM, I find your forum interesting, so I'm nothing to worry about. And sorry about the gentlemen comment.
