I can't touch Gin. I got into some dry gin in high school with a friend, and haven't been able to smell it since. I do love bourbon, though.

Nobody who "tried gin" in high school could like it now. Gin is a spirit that requires a knowhow, and not a penchant for getting drunk in a 17 yr old friend's basement. Also, this was, in no way, directed as an insult. It is just an observation and analysis. My own high school story involved rum.

Nice. Never a wrong time for rum. On a hot summer day, Bombay Saph Gin & Tonics are phenomenal. However, there is no denying I am a Jack Daniels on the rocks man through and through. And not Gentleman's Jack.

Good mojitos are hard to find in these parts. Either we make them ourselves or we order something different.

I echo the gin & tonic love. What a delicious drink. I also love mojitos, I actually grow mint in my yard for this exact purpose.

On a weird note, I've recently taken to (and I don't expect much praise for this, but oh well) mixing Simple Stirrings mojito mix with Jim Beam. It's kind of like a mint julep, but sweeter. It sounds weird and sacriligeous, but damn if it isn't good.

+1. But I've grown partial to dark rum and tonic as a summer drink. Bourbon however, is my first "love."
