Staying abreast...

Thread Starter
I was curious as to how the members stay abreast with the "latest" in terms of fashion and the sort. What magazines do you subscribe? What websites? TV? Are you on the quote inside and hear/see/read it somewhere special? GQ and Vanity have been mentioned, but I'm gathering there has to be more than the usual everday mainstream media. I feel the masses look to the likes of GQ/Vanity/Maxim etc and follow like the infamous monkey. Im not talking style, as that is a more "you have it or you don't" concept. I use this forum and admit to perusing magazines, sparingly. I also frequent nyc at times and do the usual window-shopping, sometimes scanning things mentioned here. Just to have an idea.

Subscirbe to www.firstview.com. They cover all of the major runway shows. Develop your own opinions about the coming season before the editorials tell you what to think. If you are skint like me, just look at the free pictures. Read DNRnews online, or subscribe to it or Uomo or Menswear, Apparel News, and other industry rags. IHT.com always has good fashion features.

LA Guy, Thanks for tipping me off to firstview.com. It's very helpful; it allows you to cut through all the filler in GQ, Esquire, etc. and get to the season's latest. Thanks again.

for other on-line stuff, if you go to german gq (www.gq-magazin.de) they have a nice section called 'trends and runway' in their fashion and style section that has a good selection of all the runway shows for each season per city (milan / ny / paris ...) and it costs nothing and you also can flip between some of the other gq worldwide sites (italy, spain, uk) that also have a similar feature but often show different designers or different runways outfits
