My Jantzen Shirt Has Arrived! - Page 2

I'm getting my hopes up that I'll get my shirts soon. BrianSD, did he send you an email, or was this a total surprise? And, Versaceman, show your face. You posted your damn picture the other day in another thread.

Mother*&*%&*%&.  Thanks for ruining my day Versaceman -- I just want my Jantzen shirt even more. That is a close to perfect fit.  Wash it and hang dry it a few times to see about any shrinkage issues.  Only possible issues -- with shrinkage, shoulders might be .25" too narrow.  As of now, they look perfect; wrist circumfrence might be a bit too narrow, but that's probably the result of the three buttons (undo the last button and the sleeve will sit better on the hand perhaps, but this is nitpicky); ideally you'd want to have a slightly slimmer upper sleeve to match the slimness of the body of the shirt (but this is hard to achieve in a remote MTM shirt, and again, this is just nitpicky).   Overall, I'd say that this is a fantastic shirt.  I like the slim fit -- you can pull it off since you are young and not fat yet. Also, fabric number please. Blousiness at the waist?  Are you kidding me?  A shirt can't fit like a second skin for God's sake.
Hope yours come soon. I don't usually machine-dry my more fitted shirts, so hopefully it won't shrink up on me. The wrist circumference seems a bit narrow, especially on my left wrist while wearing a watch. If I do un-do the button, it fits slightly better. I think I'll specify that I want the left cuff larger to accomidate a watch next time. I'll also comment on slimming up the sleeve. Has anyone had a problem with requesting this? If there is a problem - no biggie. The waist seems to fit well, I think I was just sloppy about tucking in my shirt. Fabric number is French Oxford #1

Ha, it's just a habit to crop my head out of the pictures when posting on the forum. I suggest that you open the Member Picture and also this thread at the same time, and use your imagination.

Yeah, it's clear that the any problems in the waist are caused by the pants you are wearing. And, really almost any shirt is going to have a little extra fabric at the back -- maybe Kabbaz can get rid of it, but it seems like just a product of anatomical structure. Your fit is great. I have never tried to mention arm circumfrence to Ricky, but I did with Chan and it worked pretty well. Maybe just send him a picture with some arrows on it for your next order. That'll do the trick. You don't need more than 1.5" or so. And, if you don't want to risk it, no big deal IMO. I haven't noticed much shrinkage in my shirts. I usually put them in the dryer once, and then hang dry for the rest of their lives. Even then they barely shrink. If the collar is a bit tight, just add .25". No big deal. I specify an extra .5" for a watch on my left wrist. If you go with the two button or one button, the wrist will loosen naturally -- the longer cuff with three buttons makes the wrist fit a little snugger because of the interlining and button position. I'll let you guys know if I get mine soon. I've been wearing the same 8 or 9 shirts now for about 4 months and I'm getting in the mood for some new blood.

VersaceMan - the shirt you display in this thread is the best-fitting Jantzen shirt I've seen so far on Styleforum.

I ordered this fabric as well (along with Plain Cotton Marine Blue and Herringbone #1) so I'm definitely looking forward.... I think I should get my shirts this week.

Great-looking shirt -- I really like the collar and the blue buttonholes. Perhaps the buttonholes are not ideal if you only have a handful of shirts, but great if you are looking for variety in your collection. What was the final cost, delivered, if I may ask?

i think the shirt looks great. the shoulders and cuffs look fine to me though it is a bit hard to tell. 2 questions: did you purposely have them leave off the sleeve placket button? and which model of collar is that?

Johnny, he started sending me emails about my orders about two weeks before I received them, asked for my new credit card, and confirming my orders. I didnt email him since when I ordered the shirts a month ago.

Yes, I had them leave off the sleeve placket button. Collar is, I think, Full British Spread.

I am thinking about ordering a pink french cuff shirt (the one Alfie is wearing in your avatar) from them. The one deterrent is that I just acquired a pink herringbone Hugo Boss shirt (not french cuff though).

I say go for it. The only downfall will be that your Jantzen shirt will be worn much much much more than the Boss shirt you just purchased, due to the near-perfect fit of MTM. Plus, you probably paid more for your Boss shirt than you would for a Jantzen.

It'll be close, 44.50 for the Boss. I just wish I got it in Blue and Violet also. The thing is, I don't know if I will be around by the time the Jantzens are finished.

Here's the status of my late August order: After I sent several e-mails in December (4 in the same day, one for each shirt ordered), Ricky replied in early January via e-mail that he would make only 1 shirt of 4 since I made substantial measurement changes. Got that 2 weeks ago, measurements were spot on, and told him to send the rest. Rec'd the remainder (3 shirts) today. They all look and fit great. By the way, for those looking for a "cut-away" collar, I think the "big spread" qualifies. I ordered it with Check #415. Pattern matching is excellent. Thanks, Ricky.
