A while back, I made an enormous ostrich egg omelette with duck bacon, sautéed chanterelles and oyster mushrooms. Oh...my...god.

Had fried duck eggs last night...

I still can't get over that Thai restaurant. My experience with cheap asian food in this country has been horrible. I've never seen flavors like this, ingredients like this, for such incredible prices.

I'm a little obsessed. Kudos to Grant Achatz and Kwilk for telling us about this place.

SField, where do you rate Daniel and Bouley in NYC? They've been on my short list of places to try in Manhattan.

What have you had so far? First time I went, it was only OK (and that was across 4-5 different dishes) but the second time was pretty awesome (the pad thai omelette and something from the specials chalkboard that I have forgotten but it involved mango or papaya or something like that)

We had a papaya salad with blue crab, shrimp and squid curry (quite good), some type of spiced ground chicken with fried duck eggs, this dish with grilled meatballs that came with eggroll skins, basil, lettuce, and some sort of peanut sauce and the best dish was some manner of Tom Yum with glass noodles, pork and the most amazing broth. That was a real treat.

Going back soon to try 5-6 more dishes from the secret menu.

You guys are knocking it out of the park. It's at the point where I'm embarrassed to post my plating

Had this last night (assuming your fried duck eggs were preserved) along with jerky, the boat noodles, and a green curry from the secret menu with pork, thai eggplant, and an omelet.

All very good but I probably won't order the curry dish again anytime soon although the thai eggplant (which I had never seen before) was awesome.

Any SF Chicagoans wanna hit up TAC tonight? I get off work at 8, and am about 6 blocks away.

TAC Quick Thai, directly under the Sheridan red line station. Right where Sheridan and Irving park meet.

how about one day next week? I can't really plan on such short notice, but I am in town for 2 weeks. I'd love to do that.

Unfortunately, with my boss being in and out of the shop and needing me on an hour's notice, I can only plan on short notice. But I should be able to do something on a day next week if it's Tuesday Wednesday or Thursday.
