Had a roasted duck breast with sausage at Lula's Cafe It was fantastic, as was the shiitake mushroom and onion quesadilla with sauteed spinach and chevre. Had a bite of someone's spicy peanut butter sandwich and I really have to figure out how to make that for lunch...

I made a club sandwich for me and my colleague. With artichokes, olives, mozzarella, tomatoes, salad, garlic, bacon and lamb inner thighs. Was really good

For sure. I wish I had known about it earlier--it is sort of out in the middle of nowhere by my car-less standards but considering the sandwiches are just as strong as the non-sandwich entrees, it is certainly affordable enough to be a regular spot.

^Nice, will check it out. Got some takeout from Chicago q tonight. My best friend is the sous there. I got the sliced Kobe brisket sandwich, cheddar poblano cornbread, and baked beans. Really delicious food. The space is nice too. I want to go back and sit down for dinner. Also, very hot hostess. Washed it (the food, not the hostess) down with a bottle of '09 Calina carmenere.

Had Focaccia di Recco ...Ligurian style baked focaccia + fresh soft cow cheese Pizza della Terra … Foraged mushrooms + braised leeks + taleggio + truffle oil Davanti Burger … bacon jam + roasted tomato + cheese curd + arugula + roasted garlic mayo + shoestring fries Mascarpone polenta + ragu of the day (was pork shoulder) All was absolutely delicious, and fun, dinner at Davanti Enoteca.

Duck, stewed for 2 hours in a heavy complex curry, my favourite dish. Served with basmati, lentils and roasted aubergine. Marzipan and fudge.

Miserable day, so I thought I'd make some miserable looking food ; gave the chicken a bit of brown in the oven before going in the pot au feu.

I think it looks delicious.

Big local charity event last night. All the top places had tables, as well as most of the mid-level places, and every wine distributor in the area. Lots of different scallop and ahi presentations, some meat things like prime rib sliders or stewed pork belly crustini, a couple duck confit presentations, some good moles were to be found, some Chinese style meats...it was a regular bachannal.

Had a few decent wines including some Oregon Pinots, a vino verdhe, and a solara style red.

Had a fantastic meal last night. Fried oysters with wasabi mayo, shaved cucumber, and tobiko followed by a honey and Dijon glazed double cut Hudson Valley pork chop with asparagus and potatoes. Paired oysters with a nice Cali Riesling and everything else with a bottle of Chateauneuf Du Pape. Lovely meal.

Lunch today was at CIA. Nothing memorable, but Manton's pics reminded me that there were tourne potatoes on the plate.
