Just finished off a Berkshire piglet head. Brined, then roasted. For those of you who have polished off one yourself, you know that it is all about the crispy skin and the fat with the granulated texture and the pig ears. - B
FTFY That's some good eatin'. Fuck the fancy restaurants and fancy chefs. Give me a good roast of pig (or a roasted pig head) and I'd be in heaven.
Friday Dinner - Bad Chinese delivery followed by around 8 pints of Kronen / Stella and about 1/3 a bottle of some obscure scotch a friend had in his cabinet
Saturday Lunch - Dim Sum and 2 pints of Budvar. Led to nap
Saturday Dinner - Local French bistro style restaurant
Chicken liver parfait
Duck confit with potatoes lyonnaise
No room for dessert
Shared a bottle of a nice white bordeaux
Couple of pints in the pub afterwards, then over to a friends for nightcaps
Sunday Brunch - Over to a friends place for pancakes (American style), bacon, and eggs
Made the first potato & leek soup of the season (topped with a mushroom medley). The gf said it was phenomenon, and two other people I served it to couldn't stop eating. There was an orzo salad with feta that someone else made. I think she forgot to put salt in it. Washed everything down with Ommegang's Three Philosophers. Apple pie for dessert.
