One of the best dishes of the dinner we had tonight.

The chicken with Chinese herbs is covered with 55% alcohol Chinese rice wine and flambe till the alcohol is totally burnt off then stock is added and boiled. A hearty robust and sweet Chicken Stew. I understand it is Taiwanese in origin.

Omelette with fresh chives.

Wild Alaskan salmon, salad, ginger soy dressing.

I feel fat.

I just clicked on this thread thinking, "Ahhh...a new post to the "What did you eat" thread by Spatlese. This must be worthwhile because Spatlese has such a refined sense of the culinary arts".


Underwhelmed

Chicken Tikka Masala from Chutney's in West LA. Fast indian food in a mini-mall but it was quite good!

For lunch I just ate a crepe filled with goat cheese, hyssop and good olive oil. Simple but delicious. Chai to drink.

Made some bun, with egg rolls and shrimp. Something along this line (not my pic):

I felt terrible (literally, figuratively) afterwards. Travelling this week and landed late that first night, with nothing much else open in the area unfortunately. I would have been better off with a sausage and fries from the hot dog truck across from the hotel.

Meatballs.

Herbal Turtle Soup

Went to the final Postrio dinner last night and had hamachi sashimi, seared foie gras, black truffle mushroom risotto, NY steak with green garlic and stuffed cheese potatoes, and a creme brulee. After a weekend trip to LA for Ludo Bites, Father's Office, and the Taste of the Nation event, I'm ready for my gut to explode.

Grabbed some cheese from Andrew's while I was in Santa Monica this past weekend, so I am currently enjoying them:



Sally Jackson sheep, La Vendeen Bichonne, Boschetto al Tartufo, and Testun al Barolo.

That looks good. What kind of crust or rub is on the fish? That picture makes me want some artichokes.
