Spaghetti carbonara. Incidentally, I used Rustichella pasta, which is really good stuff - fine texture and taste - but probably as much as I'd want to spend. That being said, I guess expensive dried pasta is still relatively cheap.

Continuing the large chunks of meat theme; this was actually a couple of weeks ago. My wife cooked, I had drinks, took photos and was in her way. Good times. Drinks:

Well, i just emptied the fridge, and ended up making a delicious vegetable soup, spiced up with some fresh thyme and quite creamy because of some cheddar and cottage cheese i tossed into the mix. And finally, I also had an opportunity to try some organic mushroom stock cubes i bought some weeks ago.

Was taken out for the b-day last night to the Marion Street Grille in Oak Park!

I had the grilled pork chop with honey-dijon glaze and paired it with a bottle of this tempranillo:

For dessert I shared a triple chocolate mousse with my girlfriend and then topped it off with a little creme brule and a Sandeman 20 year tawny...MMmmmmm so good!

The oaky caramel flavour of the Port want so perfect with the vanilla of the creme brule...it was my first taste of port and I'm hooked

yeah, I have gotten to enjoy south american food - both the southern states: chile and argentina, and also places like comlombia, and of course brazil. good meat, good beans, good use of fruit in the food.
