If you guys don't mind trekking west a little, we should meet up for lunch at Ootoya one of those days...

That looks wonderful. I had Olive Garden last night. No bullshit. This podunk sucks.

Shakshuka is one of my favorite dishes. So simple, and so insanely delicious.

SB, that's some bullshit. I seriously may not have eaten.

there might be a better Sunday afternoon meal than shakshuka, but i certainly haven't found it

Men- I live in Italy and I'll be honest.  Some days I really want some Zuppa Toscana and bread sticks from Olive Garden.  They can keep their shitty tomato sauce though.

For dinner tonight we had pizza from the local shop.

1 with Salsiccia e friarielli e provola affumicata (sausage, brocoli raab with smoked provolone cheese).

1 with prosciutto cotto, provola affumicata, ricotta e patatine (ham, smoked cheese, ricotta cheese and and french fries.)

1 margherita

I ate so much that I'm ashamed of myself.

Made a carbonara with my home made lamb bacon. Parsley was from our herb box.

Since there is no visible black pepper, it isn't actually carbonara (hi Kyle!), but it sounds good.

I put quite a bit in it when I was tossing the noodles with the eggs. Mrs. Piob doesn't like as much pepper as me so I ground a nice bit onto mine after the pic.

My travel fiasco yesterday (ALL of yesterday) was made somewhat better by a tasty sammich and soup at Tortas Frontera at O'Hare. It came with habanero salsa, and the woman handing me the sandwich advised me to be careful with it. She was not kidding. Literally the only decent food I'd eaten all week.
