Diwali dinner cooked by an Indian friend's mom, including 50 vegetable curry, potato curry, homemade naan, papadams and chutneys, daal, and other good stuff I don't know the name of.

My small contribution was mango ice cream and coconut cardamom ice cream.

When i was in school i went for a weekend visit home with an Indian buddy for Diwali. Was awesome, great food and an interesting glimpse into a culture I would have otherwise never gotten to experience. All his extended family and such came over and I was wishing people "happy Diwali" which they thought was hilarious for some reason. Was good times.

Technically this was the last meal I got to cook before I left for college, so I'll post it anyways:

Grilled halibut with a plum salsa; roasted potatoes with garlic cloves, onions, and carrots; spinach salad with balsamic, figs, burrata, and prosciutto

[It was really damn good.]
