What went wrong? Did you remove all of the stems from the watercress?

the secret ingredients of any pureed soup are vitamix and a chinois.

+100 on the chinois. Lacking a Vitamix, I used the Bamix, and all was well. Must take the Vitamix plunge one of these days.

Now is the time, the new ones are so good. I had a Blendtec up until a few months ago, but the new Vitamix models pretty much closed the gap on any advantage (shorter, wider container, better presents, more power, etc.) Blendtec might have had. JLhufford typically has the best prices with 20% off deals from time to time. Try the online chat to see whenever they're willing to do it.

Speaking of new cooking toys- I purchased a Big Green Egg and will be trying a pork shoulder on it this weekend icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

would like to hear how it goes. I don't like the Egg because of the small cooking surface and the closeness of the charcoal to the grill grate (when smoking). I find that I get the best results using an offset smoker.

Miso and thuna spaghetti. I used a lighter miso and instead of the Barilla the Spar no3 noodles- are basically the same but 50c cheaper. You can use miso paste like crème fraîche: just dissolve one or two tea spoons in the sauce...

That's not meant as a compliment, is it?

No. It's just a neutral statement...

The missus and I had dinner with friends at Bar Agricole last night. Three of us shared the pork loin, and it was super tasty. My friend said his old-fashioned was the best he'd ever had. Even the salad was great.
