I thought that scallop dish was really fantastic. The recipe does not instruct, but I put chopped truffle in the mousse which added nice perfume. Where is the venison from? It looks perfectly cooked.

The scallops are great. The texture shocked me at first, I don't know how to describe it, but I wasn't expecting it. The venison was from a butcher shop around here, and I know it isn't New Zealand, but I can't remember whether he said it was from Texas or Colorado. Regardless, the quality was really nice.

The women I cooked them for described it like eating air, which judging by their figures is one of their favorite things to eat. rimshot.gif

You should write a book on the air and cornbread diet.

What is this corn bread?

Do you have a cast iron cornbread pan?

You're not qualified to ask such questions.

Especially when he knows nothing...

Candy CORN bread. Now that's some Jedi level cast iron baking. Take that, fluffy scallop.

Boulud Sud

beets:

beef cheek ravioli:

also consumed some carrot soup that was outstanding. I'm a big fan of this restaurant.

Saturday night was Barbuto. Antipasti was mussels with bacon and pasta (small orzo-like pasta, I forget the name). Must re-create at home. Main was the JW chicken, which was great, but not outstanding, and I was kind of bummed. Also tried the braised short rips, which were wonderful, and a cod dish that I thought was the dish of the night.
