What did you eat last night for dinner? - Page 1482

All this L.A. talk is warming my heart. Might have to check out Rivera when I'm in town in a few weeks. I've wanted to try it in the past but the different rooms with different menus seemed somewhat uninviting (must not choose the wrong room if I only have one outing!).

(Come to think of it, I think SField's glowing accounts of Spice Table led me there the last time I was in town, and I wasn't disappointed--although I do think I liked Lukshon a little bit more.)

Grilled up some Mackerel and channeled my inner asian.

Processed a pig the other day and made ~35 lbs of sausage. Was my first time making Boudin Noir, and was quite happy how it turned out . Definitely a unsettling looking process!

Glad you liked it, although I had some horrifying meals at Lukshon. I don't get it, I actually think the guy is a good chef, and a very smart one.

Last night I made myself a a roast vegetable risotto. :-) I'm not normally very inventive when it comes to cooking so I might have to use some of the meals you all share as inspiration.

Was this directed at me re Asanebo? I don't know. There was definitely a lot of miso. I'm curious what you think of it. Getting in with the chefs might be key to the experience. The people next to us at the bar kept asking them for things we were being served and the chefs kept pretending they had just given us the last ones.

peppercorn catfish with sweet soy sauce sandwich from Num Pang. Hit the spot perfectly.

wife's sandwich was roasted salt & pepper Japanese yam, swiss chard, and cipollini onions.

Don't we have some sort of rule about posting pictures of sandwiches with bite marks?

Someone has to uphold some sort of standard around here, lest we wish to go the way of the gullet. It starts with half-eaten sandwiches, and it ends with this:
