Cut is probably one of the better steak houses you can go to if you're being forced into that situation. WP24 sucks. Spago sucks donkey balls and the rest of his wal-mart brand crap is humiliating.
If you're ever at the SLS, go into Bazaar and just order the Pisto Manchego with the 63c egg and the braised beef cheek. All the stuff on the contemporary menu is bad and don't go for desert, the patisserie isn't good. The classic tapas stuff is well executed. The crowd is unfortunate but I often have to be there and will usually eat those two dishes.
Is there like a better version of Kyuchon somewhere in K-town? I've had it a lot when I was out and sometimes it really is not bad at all. I know a lot of people hate it but it's a guilty pleasure.
Also have been addicted to Jitlada for southern thai lately. I've gone there an embarrassing amount of times. I recommend Tsujita for ramen. Actually, the tsukumen is better but order both. On really good days the tonkatsu broth is the best I've had. They'll always give you free soup. I'm always hungry when I go so I order that sweet potato pretzel thing from tomo next door and eat it while in line.
Also someone took me to this fish taco stand in Silverlake where I had the best fried fish of my life. Somehow these mexican dudes work these two large friars cooking fish very well... so delicious. I must find out the name and relay it here.
