Salmon penne with edamame, from a Runner's World recipe. It was OK--the "sauce" was diced tomoatoes, yellow and red onion, green bell peppers, olives, and capers, seasoned with fresh sage and oregano. In their quest to be healthy, I guess, they have you make about half the sauce appropriate for two reasonable portions of salmon and pasta. Meh.

It's popular in Chinese populations, notably the Hong Kong contingent. There's also Horlicks. Chinese supermarkets have an interesting array of somewhat obscure European foods.

Banh mi bo kho - Vietnamese beef and carrot stew with bread.

There is a little local cafe a few hundred meters away that does it better than anywhere else I have tried.

Is it the same as Bo Kho Ca Rot? What is the vietnamese word for carrot? Is it served with baguette?

I made boeuf bourguignon last night, at the request of a visitor.

Cheese-filled ravioletti with hand poured half & half crème and parmesan cheese (which with the heat from the pasta turns into an ultra-light Alfred sauce).

Fresh French baguette from a local bakery (miniscule in size) whose owners are from France (coincidently I know their son, I simply mention in passing) and they make, bar none the best bread and pastries in South Florida.

Clearly Canadian cherry flavor to drink and Chocolate en Rama for desert.

Jon.

I cooked!

I mean, just spaghetti and all, but it was the first time in like 8 months living here that I turned on the stove.
