Hello. I might have a problem with the heel of one of my shoes. Â It's the kind of heel that looks like it's made of two jigsaw puzzle pieces. Â There's a gap where the two pieces interlock. Â (This is when looking at the bottom of the heel.) I'm wondering if this gap could get water in it, retain some moisture and affect the life of the heel. Â I think the heel is all leather. Is there any cause for concern? Â Is there anything I could fill the heel with? Â Perhaps some kind of glue for leather? Â The shoe is brand new, though factory seconds, so I'd rather not have it it re-heeled. Edit: I spoke to the owner of the shop I bought it from. He said that gap should close by itself and not to worry. He told me the name of the piece (or perhaps the heel) was a 'dovetail quarter'.
