C&J lasts - Page 10

My only C&J shoe is the Cranford (on 360 last). I can confirm that it really IS quite narrow in the toe area. I have wide feet, so it tends to be uncomfortable on me (even after some stretching). I can't compare with the 348 unfortunately since I don't own a pair. In considering another 360 shoe in the future, I will definitely go down half a size instead of the usual whole size conversion.

Thanks man - I think the 9 will be OK for me.. If not, find it on B&S!

Ive got CJs in both the 348 and 360. The 360 is definitely more narrow, particularly in the toe box. Moreover, the 348 is a hair longer.

So an 8.5 in 348 would be OK for a 9 in 360?

I'm considering putting my Cranfords on B&S.

They're really great, but damned snug. UK 8.5 if someone is interested.
i'm a stubborn bastard though...so i just might hold on to them out of spite to myself

With hesitance, I think that would work. Mine are both the same size (7.5E UK). However, the 348s are ever so slightly more loose than I'd really like. The 360s fit perfectly.

I also have shoes on both the 348 and 360 and would second the above statement.

I've written extensively on this forum about C&J lasts and fit, as I own a fairly substantial number of C&J shoes on many different lasts. I am of the opinion that all C&J lasts require dropping one size from your standard U.S. size. Some will fit better than others, and nobody's foot will fit the same in every last. What works for me or someone else may not work for you, but it's the best advice I can give, having a pretty good basis for my opinion.

+1. As z said, I think 1 full size US/UK conversion is the way to go with C&J. While some lasts will fit you better than others, I think it'd be a mistake to convert only .5 size.

I have a pair of Edgware (348) and Swansea (341), but now I am digging the 360 last.

Funny, I have the opposite experience. Needed to size down 1/2 size in the 360 versus the 348. Don't recall exactly what it was, but was either too wide or the instep was too high.

Agree that you're better off sizing down a full size, for the most part.

I like that boot a lot. It would be a winner in Shell.

Did you pick up the Northcote from Barneys last year? Great looking boot, by the way!

Is the color in the attached pic a true representation of the burgundy cordovan that C& J uses.
