Unfortunately, none of the female leads were there when I was on set.
I was an ad exec mouner at a funeral.

I was excited to be on the show because I wanted to get suited up.
Only weird thing was being told to pull my pants as high as they could physically go.

Well, that and having my hair gelled, then hairsprayed, then being set out in the sun to let it "bake" (their word, not mine).

Anyone else bothered by Lane Pryce's omnipresent waistcoats? One of his staples is a tattersall that, while quintessentially "English," no self-respecting English businessman would have worn within 20 miles of any city (especially under a city worsted). Last night he was wearing an odd pinstriped vest under a solid dark worsted suit. My growing impression is that Janie Byrant doesn't really know what she's doing with the men's clothing.

He's probably just gone native. Recall that Duck Phillips also wore a tattersall waistcoat.

Yeah--Duck's wardrobe was an equally hamfisted take on sartorial Anglicism only slightly excused by the character's own hamfistededness. Lane Pryce is a bit more of a gentleman (despite Don's best efforts).

So someone dies this season? Hmmm.... SPOILER!
Clearly it's either Bert or Roger. Probably Bert, as he hasn't been given too much to do yet, and Roger still is valuable to the show.

Not gonna tell you who dies, sorry

Oh, don't worry, I'm not going to ask.

But yeah, it could be Henry. He is an old fart.

Draper wore an odd jacket to Benihana's last night. I'm guessing he's also relaxing his style of dress - I can't remember the last time he did that on a date. He always seemed to be in a suit.

Did they give Campbell even more narrower ties? Those looked thinner than 2.5".

I'm assuming the Japanese visitors simply picked up a GQ or something circa 1960s and dressed exactly like their North American counterparts? Were skinny lapels in fashion in Japan at that time?

Anyway, I thought the most interesting was the competitor. They dressed so much more relaxed. Compare the scene where the guy was yelling at Smitty versus the one where all the partners hover around Draper's desk - night & day difference.

Bumping to get me in the mood for Season 5. 1966 here we come.

Can't wait for the show to reach the early 70's and the nearly total and instant change of fashion. It'll generate a whole new wave of prosperity in the men's wear industry.

^ me too. I was hoping Don might waking up in Tahoe in 1972 with a full-blown mustache. :-)

as much as the story, their costumes are highly anticipated as well.
