Deadbeat Sellers on Ebay - Page 2

eBay has no way of knowing if you've received the item or not so I don't understand your comment about not being able to leave feedback. Here's the link you requested: http://pages.ebay.com/help/tp/know-seller-contact.html Some things to consider: - Did you write out your cheque in the right currency? - Has it been cashed yet?

On leaving negative feedback: I'm reasonably sure I've been screwed over by a seller. I paid within 12 hours of auction end, received the jacket some 25 days later and it was not as described (not even close). I contacted them the same day and told them I was shipping it back the next day which I did. Foolish me I didn't send it with receipt confirmation and now they are denying receiving it back which is now almost 4 weeks when the post office indicated that it would take only 8-10 business days. They refuse to refund my money. So, I want to leave negative feedback to warn other buyers but I don't want the retaliatory negative on my record - how do others handle things in this situation. I do sell on eBay on occassion so I want to protect my feedback rating.

...All of which illustrates why knowledgeable people call it "E-Prey".

What goes around comes around.....I agree with you Andrew,100%.I think the buyer needs to be patient.I dabble in selling, and have nowhere near the volume that Andrew has. It's not easy to get a dozen items out the next day if the PayPal has been done. After all,if we could hit a button that says "Deliver Item",then we would. As for the non- paying bidders,I have about a 10% ratio.I do not understand the psychology of a person who aggresively bids for an item, wins it,then you never hear from them nor see payment. What's going on in their minds?I'm a buyer too, so I see both sides of it.I think Ebay should disallow retaliatory feedback if a seller has a non paying bidder report in.

I think you should give the seller at least another week. Only 8 or so business days so far since you sent money. Some Ebayers simply do not check (or respond to) email I've found. Hopefully I find that out before I've won something from them. If you buy alot of stuff on Ebay, eventually you're going to have (i) something "lost" in the mail; (ii) something that is different than as described; or (iii) something that is different than as pictured. Most of the time, the problem is due to laziness on the part of the seller -- either they haven't gotten around to packaging and mailing the item or they gave short-shrift to the description and/or pictures. Anyway, I'd give it some more time.

Problem resolved. The item I purchased was listed inadvertently by the seller's assistant. I received a full refund. Sadly, no BNWT H&K shirt for a $19.99 BIN...

That I can believe... I HATE that freaking program. It is upgraded on a weekly basis which causes major problems and it never works right anyway. Doesn't help that I paid Blackthorne $300 plus for their software, and now have to pay ebay a $25/month subscription fee now that they bought them out
