Yeah i was thinking about it I am a few credits short of an associates degree in Information systems. I will end up taking out some student loans to finish. I should have gone to community college, instead of going straight to Maryland, I would have been able to save a lot of money. Howard CC is a good one our state has some of the best in the country.

I've said it in other threads, but I REALLY recommend finishing up your degree or going back to get it. It is so much easier to do it now, while you are young and relatively unattached, than later when you have a wife, kids, full-time job, etc. College loans aren't fun, but they also aren't like other loans in that you don't have to pay them back while you are in school and also you can set up your repayment options to coincide with your status at the time (for example, graduated payments, deferments for hardship, etc.) Further, given the state of the economy now, it is sometimes a good option to go back to school. ^ Sucks that we give untold billions to screwed-up banks and won't even give ex-service people enough to get an education at a state school. Man have we lost it.

I'll probably also get into trouble for this, but I might also add that I find it a little unfortunate that we would pay a minority student's full tuition, fees, etc simply by virtue of their lifestyle/skin color but deprive a service member who risked his life that same possibility.

Sorry to hear it's worked out that way for you. However, military service can open doors to an education for some. Personally, I received my Bachelors and Masters degrees, at government expense, through military service. I friend of mine completed Med school on the government's dime! The opportunities are there, though they may not be all of what they used to be.
