I need a good quality umbrella

I need to buy a good quality umbrella by thursday. It does need to be collapsible (I have to be able to put it in my bag). I can probily spend $60 on one. I live in Cambridge UK so if anyone knows a place I could go to localy that would help. I heard they carry nice umbrellas at Austin Reed. Can anyone confirm this?

You could probably find something decent at the John Lewis at the Grand Arcade. Or have a look at the SAB factory shop.

I didn't know where to put this question, but I hope this thread will do fine:

I am in a real need of a good-quality umbrella, and I've looked around on Brigg's homepage a little, and discovered this: http://www.swaineadeney.co.uk/catalo...productsPage=6

Is this umbrella worth the, relatively expensive, price in relation to it's lifelength? If you where it when you walk in town when it occasionally rains, not throwing it in the mud in the forest etc, that is. And I also have a question about the sizing, how should I know wether to get a 25" or a 27"?

If you have any other idea of where I can get an umbrella online, in about the same design as Brigg's but maybe ~$100 cheaper, that would be great!

I believe Papworth is in Cambridge.

Ede and Ravenscroft on the corner of Silver St and King's Parade have some at about 150 - 300 quid. Austin Reed's are cheap and nasty. Also try the luggage shop on Sussex St (opposite Sainsbury's, roughly).

If you do not care about mother nature hitting you then go buy one at any store for any price.

If you do care for your life then go buy one at a golf store.
At least the umbrellas sold here at golf stores do not have so much metal in them as to attract a hit from above. But if this has been proven in real life then I would have to say yes as I am a victim and now only shop for them at golf stores.

There are some nice ones at Paul Smith but they aren't made by Paul smith (of course) and are very expensive.

I purchased a full-size solid wood Brigg's umbrella from papworth a couple months ago, absolutely love it. Papworth usually has Brigg's factory seconds for 40-60 pounds. I checked the website, and it looks like there is only one model currently available, and it's not a solid wood one (I maybe wrong) but at least its a Brigg's. https://www.papworthtravelgoods.co.u...las/index.html

Papworth/SAB is in Bar Hill which is a 10 minute bus ride from downtown Cambridge. It's tucked behind a big Tesco.

I've bought the golf umbrella a while ago. Nice item and quite cheap. I posted some photos here next to my other SAB.

Ahh, very good comparing the two side by side, I can see the difference. I have the exact solid maple as you.

I bought the yellow Briggs tube umbrella. I wanted something less drab then all of the normal black umbrellas. Its not bright yellow. more mustardy. I will post up pics later.
