FYI, I've had EG ship me nearly twenty pair and they've never required duty. I have had the impression that our Customs isn't funded to keep up with the package volume. Will

The selection of EGs at Richards is pretty measly, but they carry the basic cap-toe (and possibly the punch toe) models. Richards also have the new 82 last on display. Last I checked I think Richards prices are the same as Saks. Close to a year ago Jay Kos had the widest selection in NYC but their pricing was horrible. Richards has started carrying a basic J.M. Weston selection (loafers and cap-toes I think). I have been fortunate in not receiving any bills from customs when ordering from the UK (includes Green and Pediwear orders)

When I ordered from EG in London they shipped Royal Mail (ParcelForce) that was deliveredd through the US Postal Service. The duty (customs) was about $25.00 per pair and a handling charge of $5.00 by the USPS. Not paying duty on 20 pairs must have been nice.

That's unfortunate. Like TimelessRider, I've never had to pay duty on EG or Pediwear purchases from the UK (both ship via Royal Mail). In fact, the only shoes that I've ever been charged duty on were a pair of Tim Littles that shipped UPS. I don't know if there's a connection. In any event, it's probably only a matter of time before my luck runs out: they're all eligible to be charged duty if Customs decides to inspect them.

I called Richard's today. They have the cap-toe, but they charge the same price as Saks, $850.
