Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist

Is it just me, or are they really milking this 'alternative-indie-teenager' demographic for all its worth? Even the trailers seems so forced and packaged... OMG YOU'RE LIKE, TOTALLY MY MUSIC SOUL MATE... This Movie = 1. Michael Cera 2. Random quirky-kind-of-cute girl 3. "mainstream-indie" soundtrack 4. ??? -------------- 5. PROFIT! The whole genre jumped the shark with Juno.

This movie looks stupid.

This is how they breed Obama voters.

I think 4 would be "Based on successful (but not too successful) book."

Juno minus the teenage pregnancy part.

I'm actually looking forward to this movie but I agree with all of the above statements and have made them myself.

These movies always seem to use very similar handwriting fonts for the titles, too.

A few examples:

^I don't really agree that these movies share a theme, marketing scheme, or typography. Juno and Nick and Nora, sure.

I couldn't find a poster from Nick and Norah but these are just some movie covers I remembered from my days working in a video store. I realize they aren't all offbeat comedies but there would be similar movies like this that popped up every so often that seemed similar to me just from looking at the covers.

Perhaps Thumbsucker and Chumscrubber would have been better picks than Mean Creek (which I haven't seen).

Kat Dennings is cool. I'm watching it.

I thought it was dumb, aside from the headbutt scene which made me laugh out loud.

As Skwisgaar might say, this movie looks dildos.

Want to see a great movie about modern family and teen angst? See "Ice Storm" remarkable movie.

Can't wait for this, we'll be seeing it opening night

I liked the commercials they ran for this film that did it like "Gossip Girl" with the narration

Juno, Nick and Nora's... are pretty funny and entertaining but for true teenage drama or comedy "the hills" trumps
