socks for boots (RW gentleman travelers) Smartwool?

Just bought a pair of GTs online and now I need some boot socks. I need something that will wick away moisture like a smartwool sock, but is not too thick (gets too hot indoors) or as thin as a dress sock I wear with dress shoes (would cause blisters in boots). Smartwool is confusing because there are so many types and I don't really have any experience with them.

Any suggestions for specific models of socks would be appreciated.

Smartwool socks are amazing socks and i use them everytime I am in the field, however they might be a little overkill if you are just wearing boots around town like the GT was made for. If you do decide to pull the trigger on Smartwool make sure you get your size correct. the socks also vary in length and padding, the light padding should be good for you if you are not doing any long hiking trips with a fully loaded pack. hope this helps
