I've always been satisfied with their quality, however I agree that the prices are rather exorbitant. What is, in your opinion, the best clothes money can buy (OTR that is).

Until recently Saipan was a major manufacturing centre for "Made in USA" using labour from China and paying basically Chinese rates.

Lawsuit vs. garment firms alleges labor violations

Twenty three foreign garment workers yesterday filed a civil action in federal court against 22 local garment manufacturers alleging violations of federal and local labor laws. The suit, alleged violations of the federal Fair Labor Standards Act, the CNMI Nonresident Workers Act, the CNMI Minimum Wage and Hour Act and other laws for nonpayment of overtime premiums and minimum wage.

The garment firms produce clothing for some of the nation's leading fashion companies and clothing retail outlets.

The garment workers were not identified for fear that if their true identity is revealed, they will face physical violence, immediate deportation to China or their country of origin, likely arrest upon arrival in China or their country of origin and an order by China and other authorities accelerating the repayment of debt incurred for recruitment fees. They also fear that their families may face similar threats of physical and economic retaliation if their identity is revealed, the complaint explained. The plaintiffs brought the action on their own behalf and on behalf of a class of at least 25,000 similarly situated nonresident garment workers who are, or have been, employed by the garment manufacturers.

so how often are you suppose to polish? And is it necessary to strip down the polish on a new pair?
I assume once you get the color you want then you stick with a clear polish?
How is the "midnight" or "midnight black" on Edward Green's achieved? (or is that an EG secret)

His guide doesn't explain everything... I was looking for something more detailed but that was a good read.

oh yea, another question... will indigo permanently stain expensive shoes?

I've been trying to find a moc-toed spring/summer shoe with a more substantial sole than sperrys. The Sperry's 75th anniversary boat shoe looks to have a much thicker sole than their standard boat shoe, but can anyone confirm this?

I'm not sure its really worth the $90 price tag, though, considering it probably won't really be any better than the other boat shoes I've owned (for much less). Is the 75th anniversary collection supposed to be of higher quality?

In any case, how are the soles on the L.L. Bean blucher moc? Are they more comfortable than Sperry soles? What I really want are Quoddy Ring boots with Vibram soles, but I dont think they're available until F/W 2010

That's what I meant. If the lines are thick, it might not go well with your tie (though it will not be too bad since Burgundy has Purple in it). But with thin lines, it's fine.

I just picked up a new suit, and an not sure wherther I should have cuffs on the pants. It's a BB 1818 in charcoal. The pants are flat front. Is there a rule whether to cuff or not?

No set rule, personal preference. That being said, I like cuffs on pleated pants but not on flat front. You could cuff if you want, then if you change your mind later can have them removed.

What shirt or sweater could I wear with black chinos? I'd also probably wear black driving mocs with no socks as well. I think these pants and shoes go well together, but I can't think of a top.

Something in a mid grey tone would look nice dude. Maybe light blue button up shirt under a mid grey cashmere v-neck sweater?

Really any lighter colored shirt would work with that.
