Hello. Of the following shoes, which ones(in black) would be suitable for a formal occasion, business setting or job interview?

Keep in mind I would be wearing trousers so only the bottom part/half would be visible. Also some are not in black in the picture but are available in black.

The jodphurs would be the closest to acceptable. When you sit down, the fact that they are boots will be apparent.

I'm just getting into taking care of my fashion and I'm reading a book for men called "The Style Bible" as my first real significant stretch toward getting my fashion ... I came across something they didn't show / explain properly that's left me kinda "huh" right now.

What is a "break in pants"? There also seems to be multiple types of breaks from what I'm reading but not understanding... full / medium / single ?

Could anyone explain what these look like / are for?

Where the pants fall on your shoe, essentially the length of your pants. The break you choose depends on how awesome you are.

It is the term for describing how far your trousers fall past the top of your shoe and therefore how much your trousers pool on the top of your shoe. No break means that your trousers end before they touch your shoe so there is no pooling. Full break is the opposite and means that your trousers fall "a lot" past the top of your shoes. You can see pictures of two kinds of break in the thread below. What is pictured first is probably a light to medium break and second is a heavy to very heavy break.

I recently purchased a polyester/rayon dark gray sports coat from Men Wearhouse, it was originally $240 but got it for $120. I have a pair of lucky brand jeans and some horizontal striped tshirts to make an outfit with some chucks, wondering if that's a nono.

I'm 6'0, 157lbs, long/lanky/skinny/toned build. My workplace is hosting their annual Christmas party at a well known hotel ballroom.

General style at the office is casual. It's not mandatory to wear pants/collared shirt (tucked in) but most do. I've seen my bosses in sports polos before. I mostly wear sweaters, wovens or knit tops now...really not very strict (just no jeans, tshirt, etc.).

What should I wear? I only have black jacket, pants...would like to chaneg it up with shirt and tie.. suggestions?

What is Barney's return policy? I have a gorgeous sweater I bought several years (OK more than that) back and after wearing it once I noticed a hole right in the belly area but never brought it back... wondering if they are one of those places that takes almost anything back?

Got any other jackets? Something like a tweed herringbone or houndstooth? Don't just show up in a black suit... you look like a funeral director (and like everyone else there, haha!)

I'm headed back to MC (after almost two years in SW&D).
Business casual office (only a couple people wear ties).
Should I rock this?
