Sounds like good reasoning. I'm still out, but I'll measure it when I'm home.

Thanks.  I'm pretty resolved on the Tyrwhitt, having been to every store in town, and bought a shirt (that I can still return) for $100 that works, but I'm not crazy about, and liking the look of the Tyrwhitt better.  Speaking of -- how slim is their slim fit?  I'm a 36S jacket, 17" across the shoulders.  Slim fit?  Probably slim fit.

I dunno. Mine is their regular fit. Size for size, it's about equivalent to a BB slim fit. We're about the same size. The slim probably won't be too slim, you know?

I'll get the slim, then, probably.  I'm pretty slim, and I hear BB slim is for people in reasonably good shape.  I'm a 30/32 waist, depending on the day of the week.

Is this workable, or too short? I *might* be able to lengthen a little bit. It is unlined and there is maybe 1.25" of material folded over. I've never lengthened a jacket. Don't want to sink money into it if it is unsalvageable. I'd rather just sell it. Thank you in advance. Everywhere else fits pretty well, and I love the fabric.

Too short, and with that much curve to the fronts and the patch pockets, lowering the hem probably won't ever look right. Anyway, the lapel shape is a bit extreme.

Yeah, way too short for you, and lengthening a jacket is flat out impossible due to how the quarters have to be cut in front. Not to mention that the button stance is already on the higher side- lengthened, it would look ridiculous. It does look nice, shouldn't be hard to sell.

What buttons should I replace the knotted leather ones on this tweed blazer I thrifted? I was thinking dark brown like this:

Why replace them?

I am missing one on the sleeves -- there is 3 on the left and 2 on the right. I suppose, I could cut one of the left and then it would be 2 and 2 :) Might be easier than paying to replace. I have to get the sleeves lengthened and the waist taken in a bit anyways.

I don't mind two buttons on the cuffs, but if you replace those, try to find very dark brown or burgundy leather knotted buttons.

I like the ones you found on Ebay, but if this is a 3-button blazer then you'd want a spare front button.
