If a denim jacket was never washed but continuously work for say 30 years would there be any visible wear/distressing at all?

It did to me...

$15 doesn't sound unreasonable especially if it's a re-hem rather than hemming unfinished pants.

I'd like to buy this coat:

http://www.yoox.com/pl/41474077AU/item?dept=men#sts=sr_men80&cod10=41474077AU&sizeId=

Does anyone know anything about the 8 brand Yoox sells? Is it their house brand? How about quality? I can't find any info on this.

Yes, but it be much less noticeable in unstressed areas (not the shoulders, elbows, etc)

I'm considering ironing my flannel trousers and am wondering if there's anything I need to know?

A tailor tell me that a full canvass suit is stiffer than half canvass. He also said that half canvass suit is much better fit and drape. How true is it?

Not at all. Go to a better tailor. What's going on is since he's not actually making the suits he's trying to sell you on what he can get made.

What the hell? Avoid him like the plague! If his store is on Yelp (which is useful in this case), post your experience on it.

He might be not a English native speaker, like me, although I know he has at least a house in the US and we communicate by English. He may confuse "stiffer" for "thicker". But I really doubt about a half canvas suit could drape and fit better than a full canvas suit.

Thank you guys for making it clear to me.

Please lay everything down with your tailor. Communication is the most important aspect in the relationship between patron and tailor. I have a tailor with a thick Spanish accent, so I (and many others here) understand.

Don't doubt it. It's entirely possible for a good quality half canvas suit to drape and fit well, and for a mediocre full canvas suit to drape and fit poorly.

But your tailor's claim that a full canvas suit will be stiffer than half canvas, and will fit and drape better than full canvas, should certainly not be regarded as a general truth.
