Which shoemaker do you recommend that I buy a gift card to (looking to get about a 400 dollar gift card. price range probably 6-800?) I'd ideally like to get something English, but I am open to all suggestions. I am located in New York. Thank you for all the help!

Crockett and Jones. They are on 56th between 5th and 6th. They start at $650 for benchgrade.

Thank you! I actually was considering C&J, but I was hoping to see if there were any better options at that price point. Perhaps this validates my initial consideration. Do you know by any chance how much more the handgrade line costs?

I believe the handgrades are about $900. You could also do Brooks Brothers. They have a few C&J models under the Peal name (as well as some Alfred Sargent). They typically run about $600-$650, but it is much easier to get discounts on BB stuff with all the sales and corporate discounts.

I bought two pairs of Ferragamo's on EBay in my size 9.5D. They are are loafers. The pair in black (horsebit) fit nicely. The brown (more of an Italian version of penny loafers) hurt my feet so much that I have to take them off after a couple of hours. The tightness is mostly on the top of the feet.

Should I bring the brown shoes to a shoe repair to get stretched or does it sound like they are a different cut and should have gotten a bigger size?

I live in Santiago, and I am finding it very difficult to find a clothes brush. Shoe brushes, however, are not in short supply. While most shoe brushes brushes would be too stiff for clothes, I have found a few with very soft all natural bristles. Is there any reason why I shouldn't use much a brush on clothes?

I know it's a long shot, but is anyone able to recognize the make and model iron this fellow is using?

In any event, it's a good video.  (I love my sleeve board.)

Thanks.

My question - about the site:

WHen I got to post a classified to classic menswear, I cannot add a picture. It's very frustrating. Working on OS X. Tried chrome, firefox and safari. Firefox I can drag and drop, but when I go upload I get an error.

Searched the board, but I can't find the answer.

Thanks in advance.

Yes. I've posted pics in several other threads, and started a couple with pics.

I've also pm'd pics.

When I go to post an ad, there is no picture icon at the top of the text editing field.

I know there are restrictions on when you can sell, but I've been a member for two and a half years. I've bought from 5 different members (although only 1 left feedback).  I've posted 138 times.

I'm trying to sell a Canli overcoat and 2 Canali sports jackets. :|

Hi every body,

I almost never have to wear suit because I live in hot weather country and my workplace doesn't require to wear.
I'm recently interested in fabric which is called "quilt cotton fabric" and I just think about a suit could be made from it.
What is quilt cotton fabric and it can be made a suit? Please help to advice me.
Thank you very much.

Could anybody please tell me what brand of jacket this is that Timomatic is wearing and where I could find it? Having extreme difficulty searching for something I know nothing about to even google lol.

I hope somebody can tell me! Thank you everyone!

Anybody know where I can find shirts similar to those that Daffy's used to carry? I know some familiar brands are available on Yoox for double the price but is there anyone that offers them at Daffy's price point? Either online or in NY metro area.

Just realized I should have posted this here instead of starting a new thread. Oops.

I've only ever had my uniforms tailored through the Marines, never owned a suit or nice jacket or anything. I don't know how any of that stuff works. All I know is that my uniform jacket is a 44S.Tonight at the bar I work at, my boss came up to me and asked me if I was interested in a jacket. Apparently it had been at the bar for about 2 months and no one had claimed it during that time. He thought it was close to my size so he offered it to me before it was thrown out/donated. It was a nice Kenneth Cole jacket so I accepted. I got home and tried it on and it was a bit bigger than I expected. I checked the size and it's a 46L. I was wondering if I could get that tailored to size and how much would something like that generally go for? Thanks in advance.
